Porto: Landscape and Architecture

The very last collection of photographs from my holiday in the North of Portugal 5 years ago. Last month I posted some landscapes captures from that region but today it's all about the city of Porto. I have also shared photos of Porto's Atlantic coast and the city's food market last year. This last post contains some landscape snapshots of Porto as well as the beautiful architecture I photographed around the city.
Porto is a picturesque, coastal city that stole my heart. I already mentioned in my previous posts how delicious the food is and how beautiful the views are. This already is a recipe for a great holiday. I saw many of the top sights such as the iconic metal bridge, the ornate Clérigos Church, stunning Victorian gardens and a tiled Baroque-style church. Porto is a colourful city. It is located along a river estuary in the Douro valley, famous for its wine production. There is so much to experience in this wonderful region of Portugal. It is somewhere I would happily return over and over. The North of Portugal is a very special place in my opinion.
There is one photograph from Lisbon at the end. I spent one day there but for some unfortunate reason I did not take many photos. Luckily, I have some photos form Lisbon from last year that I can't wait to share. They are going to be part of long series of posts from my European cruise last year. I had the opportunity to visit many places as well as witness the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets out at sea. This was definitely one of my top three holidays to date. I am very excited to share my cruise experience and all the photographs over the coming months. For now, enjoy scrolling through my captures of the wonderful city of Porto.
