Landscape of Northern Portugal

I was aiming to create more and different content for Eye for Ireland this summer. However, my summer turned out to be a busy one, as always. My writing and blogging was put on the back burner. Thankfully my love for photography prevailed, I've been taking a lot of close ups and macros in my garden. It has been a while since I spent time taking those kinds of photographs. They require a lot of patience and stable hands! I can't wait to share those captures.

For now, here are landscape photographs I captured in the North of Portugal in 2014. I couldn't remember and had to check how long ago it was. Some of the following photos were taken on the way to the places I wrote about in this last post from Portugal. I love going to see beautiful locations and amazing views. This country did not fail to deliver. Few of the other photos were taken on a drive to Ribeira de Pena.

I had an incredible experience canoeing on The Tâmega river in that region. We picked and ate delicious grapes off the vines hanging over the river. We also made other short stops along our journey; to swim, to snack, to go for a quick barefoot hike. It was such an adventure and it didn't even end there. Afterwards I had the opportunity to try archery for the first time. It was much more demanding than I expected, but I loved the focus it required.

I have one last set of photos from that time I spent Portugal, but I will keep them for another occasion. For the next post I am going to work on some of those macro photos. I can't decide what it will be yet. There are more than 30 photos of insects and more than 50 of flowers. It's a 100% chance that you will see flowers, as I captured a lot of the bugs on them.
